The Forum brings together the business and education communities in England with the policymakers in an attempt to build consensus around key science education policies and practices and make policy recommendations based on high quality research and the findings of commissioned investigations.

The Forum aims to:

• Raise the standard of science education.
• Contribute to a coherent and co-ordinated policy for science education.
• Help sponsors from the business community to target support resources.
• Produce high quality evidence-based reports on specific issues or developments in science education to inform policies and practices.

Background to the Forum

The Forum has been based on the model of the Education Forum of North Carolina. The AstraZeneca Science Teaching Trust intends to use its resources to facilitate and support any working parties, enquiries etc. that are proposed, but otherwise the Forum will be completely independent of the AstraZeneca Science Teaching Trust and AstraZeneca PLC.
